If it really annoys you why do you play rated? I know your a top player and everything, but why not just have fun in unrated? That way you can avoid the lamers. Everyone knows your a great player, even if your rating only is 1800.

Rated is fun even if your not a top player, the whole idea of rating is match you up with players of your skill level. Its cool when your rate goes up but I dont think it should be the main reason to play rated.

Seriously, don\’t let a few idiots spoil the game for you. If somebody wants to win so badly that they are ready to use cheats by all means let them. I think the best you can do is to public the name of the people using it for all to see and have them live with the shame of being exposed as cheaters in the eyes of the AOM community.

This will be my first post here,but I visited many times and enjoyed youre recorded games ALOT. They helped me to play better and even have more fun in the games I play. For that I thank you. Now youre saying hunting bug will ruin ALL tournaments,well I think they will fix it and/or will not allow it in future tournaments. Have patience my friend. About there isnt a reall pay-off for youre work…well wake-up! People almost worship you and are verry happy whith what you do,isnt that a pay-off? Also I cant understand that you let a few whiners mostly 12 year old childeren get to you And if you really like some money for youre work I suggest you open a paypall account so people can donate money to you. You be suprised what people will give you…… Cheer up! and keep up the good work!

This is very sad news to hear but doesnt come as a suprise - the people who complain on this site should be banned - josey is providing a free service and still some of u arent satisfied. One option you could explore is charging people a small monthly subscription fee to use this site - that way u get something back from the community u have given so much to. Anyway best of luck in whatever u decide to do josey - im sure i speak for everyone when i say thanks for providing such a great source of recorded games for all the AoM and TT Civs :)

I would just wait a week or so and see if ES says or does anything about the recent flood of complaints on the forums about it. If not, then quit :) As for this site not paying off. Have you considered putting a small banner at the top? You\’d have to do some research. Some of them pay up to .20 a click, and they actually send you bi-weekly checks, while others wait until you have hundreds of clicks before sending anything. But if you\’ve gotten a million people to view this page already I\’d say it\’s worth it to experiment and put an ad or two someplace.

If you build something over a hunted animal it dessapears thus norse can create then destroy for example walls for no cost thus at the same time killing ur classic time Anyway josey I really enjoy ur replays and i dont beleave u should shut down the site :\\ Remember that this is a bug Abuse and its against the EULA. If someone does this a lot then complain to ES and request a reset of theyr acounts.

Your the only good player who helps the other ones and who spends time posting his games and maintaining a really good site. Don\’t quit please! Of all the experts in this game, you help people the most. I know you don\’t get a lot of it financialy, but you have earned the respect of the entire community. Your game play is in a leage of it\’s own. Sure there are players up there that stay at the top more, but they seem to whore one overpowered strategy after another. You show people that all civs can be competetive it you know how to play them, and you seem to play them all at the expert level, which is something that not only but a handfull of people on the planet can do, and non of them are as accessable as you are. You contibutions to this game are appretiated by more people maybe than you realise.

Josey, if I remember correctly you did not start this site to get something from it. You started it to give something to other people. And that you did. I agree that there is nothing worse than donating your time and not being appreciated for it, but I am sure you agree that the complainers are the vast minority, likely very young, and very selfish; the extreme opposite of the principle of this site. If everyone that had something to give would give to those in need, the world would be a beautiful place. If not, well, then we\’d be pretty much where we are today. I think your example is teaching much more to your readers than AoM or AoT. Don\’t give that up. About the bug I can see why it would be tricky to fix. Set could just send his animals and delete them by your tc, stopping you from farming. On maps like oasis this could be a problem. ES will have to rework some mechanics to solve that. I don\’t know what to tell you about tournaments except that if money and glory are the only reasons you play this game, then by all means give it up. If not, focus on what you like and wait until a solution is found. In any case, definitely don\’t get stressed over it. You\’ll find plenty of other stuff to get stressed over as your life progresses. :P Ves

Well, to quit or not to quit is purely your decission and I am sure you will do whatever feels best for you. Good luck with that. I am just an occasinal player and only gave AoM another shot because of TT. However, I wanted to thank you for your efforts for the gaming community, as i feel that you you made an outstanding effort in operating this site, and I hope you got just as many good things out of it as we did. Your site is a masterpiece as for me : a lot of great games and a lot of people like me could learn how to progress by watching your records… Your spirit is nice, you have fair play, you work a lot, but, alas, you cannot get unanimity. There are always silly people to cry and to break your excellent job : ignore them. And for the bug, im sure its going to be corrected. yes this whole thing is dumb, with hunting deletion and the game being quite unbalenced with titans and atlanteans, the game has gone downhill. i totally understand when people ask for help and you dont have the time then they say ur selfish and they say if i paid money you would find the time but we have lifes and it doesnt revolve around aom ( well mine doesnt ). josey dont quit man, we need some north american people who can beat up on the koreans ;)

I\’m sure your fans number in the thousands, Bryan. You have fans who don\’t even play the game, such as myself. I still can\’t understand why this won\’t be fixed. In Age of Kings, they stopped your ability to kill enemy deer with your scout. They also fixed the ability to delete fishing. This goes right along the same line. But while ES is working on it I\’m sure that many in the community would like to see the recorded games of the players who are using this \"tactic\” since most of us won\’t ever have a rating high enough to be in games with some of these \"experts\".

comment Few months ago right when I started playing this game, I got to your site by chance, and downloaded few recs and watch. Well now, I visit your site at least once a day. I know your not \"The Top Player\” on ESO, but for whaterver reason I always liked your play style and most of all your personality that comes through your comments on this site as well as in game. What you have dude, no one else in the AOM comunity has; Respect, Admiration, and appreciation of your fellow players. If you insert banners in this site, we\’ll will click on them, if you require a monthly fee, we\’ll pay it, if you leave, we well for ever hold you in the highest places. Cause as you see from all these posting, you are a heck of a guy and we all know that. Leave if you\’re bored with the game, or if you dont have time to play. But dont quit something you love to do because of whinners and cheaters. They will win that way, and I (and I\’m sure you too) hate for cheaters and whinners to win. Have to agree with everyone, I have never been as impressed with any player as i have you. You are innovative, where other players arent. Whats funny is you say people are annoyed when you wont help them for free, when i decided not to email you about paying for training when i thought \"for him to take time from his Aom playing, (and outside life) has to be a huge thing for him - i probably cant afford it. :) I can see where doing any one thing so much can burn you out, sounds like you need to get back to a point where you find out what is fun about this game for you. If it isnt fun, dont play. But maybe its the top level competetition that is burning you out, not the game itself. Will definitely hate to see you go if you do. You are the only expert that i root for in the rankings.

Bryan, I just wanted to thank you for not only the obvious brilliance of your gameplay (as shown in the replays you graciously post), but also for bringing a much needed attitude to AOM. One of the problems in all online gaming is the immaturity of the gaming community… probably just the nature of the thing. So I\’m glad there are folks out there like you who are open, like to trade ideas, and enjoy the game for the fun of it. First off, I doubt this site has received a million unique views since its inception.. MFO Savage received something like half a million PAGE VIEWS in the 20 days after it opening, and MFO has hundreds of concurrnet users on at a time, with Savage being only the third most popular site on MFO. Secondly, I think its pretty clear that everyone in the community would view your leaving with great sadness, and I hope you made this post in haste, anger and to draw attention to a point - because, quite frankly, I need your bloody recs..

I never said 1 million page views :) I said 1 million hits, I get hits for every dl and shit like that so it\’s probably nothing compared to aom, but this is an individual site pointed directly at one thing hehe, I think it\’s a pretty decent accomplishment in and of itself. As for the quiting thing, I think i\’ve rethought it. Most of what I said was said out of frustration at the way someone who I respected as a gamer (hope) played vs. me, I thought if someone like this is playing in this manner soon enough everyone will be, and with the tournaments not tyring to curb it in any way it would have only gotten worse. In all liklihood if MFO hadn\’t changed its ruling on hunting deletion I would have likely ended up quiting fairly shortly after the upcoming tournaments due to the fact that I like to play at a high level (which means rated) of competition, but know I wouldn\’t have fun doing so vs. lamers such as that(sorry hope but I consider u a lamer now :P). As it is I still have fun playing the game, just not when lame things like that are used against me, in fact I had so much fun the other day coming up with a completely new anti atlantean strategy. I think I\’ll be writing up an article and posting it on this site and perhaps others.
