You can find all the new games here, there are some Hades, Oranos and Kronos games. I’m basically caught up on my posting at this point, I threw out a few games that were too old or just plain crap, and from now on hope to be posting games as they are played so I don’t get so behind again.
Saturday I played in the finals of the Igames tournament, I had to go to regina to play and met a clan-member who lives there (we had met previously as well) who watched me play my games and ummmm cheered me on in a rather disturbing manner (that general is one weird guy!!). I finished a dismal 5th there which was unfortunate, but I think I could have done a lot better if it had been double elimination rather than single, but such is life I guess. So I ended up winning a couple of free games out of the deal as well as my previous prize of a motherboard/processor package which isn’t such a bad deal in the end.
I also managed to get back into the top 20 again, I’ve been dropping in and out of it now for the last little while, but feel pretty confident that I can hold on at this point as long as I don’t fool around too often with weird strategies, which isn’t likely because I like to fool around every once in a while. I beat GP the other day as Kronos which you can find posted in the new games, it felt kinda good to beat the (then) #2 player fairly handily :). Other than that nothing really new to report, I’ve got a couple of days off coming up so plan to do a bit of work on the site and hopefully get an example or two up of what I’m doing with my premium service. Oranos: 2v2 Myself and KS_Gabriel(Isis) vs. MAD_Nero(Hades) and MAD_Caesar_(Gaia)

This is an extremely long and extremely ummmmm long game hehe. Towers everywhere, fortress’ everywhere. I don’t know if I’ve ever played another game where I completely ran out of accessable trees several times. Anyways they resign at the end because it’s going for too long, things get rather repetitive after a while in this one I think.

Oranos: 1v1 vs.IEvenescencel as Isis on Alfheim

This is a pretty interesting game, he goes for the standard FH type thing, if rather poorly done, then he just starts massing up the buildings in the middle, which believe me are very tough to get rid of due to the hills/forests/settlement. By 14 minutes he hasn’t even built a troop, but man he sure has a lot of midgols up.

Hades: 3v3 Myself, KS_Perfection(Isis), and KS_General(Zeus) vs. DBD_Hoes(Isis), DBD_11th_(Poseidon) and Kasier_Norse(Thor) on Marsh

We go for the triple fast mythic, which is pretty silly but actually manages to work to some extent hehe. After that I decide to mass up a shade army so spend a good amount of resources sending un-upgraded hoplites into the enemy troops hehe. Man do those Hades UU’s ever take down a titan gate fast :).

Kronos: 1v1 vs. eX_MeWins as Isis on Marsh

An example of how Kronos has one big advantage over Oranos in situations like this. Just goes to show how vulnerable Isis can be if you can get rid of that first Midgol fast.

Oranos: 3v3 Myself, KS_Prophecy(Kronos) and KS_Benevolence(Thor) vs. Vinacis_Jaguar1(Odin), OLV_El_Duderino(Kronos) and Anvil25(Poseidon) on Alfheim

Here’s a game that really shows the importance of teamwork. It didn’t matter that I was actually going to lose to my opponent in this one because the damage that I managed to do to the other two players more than made up for my slow but eventual death.

Good team-work on their part, we go for the early double, but Blurs defenses hold in there long enough for chromage to start to over-run me at home.

Hades: 2v2 Myself and DBD_Jeebus(Hades) vs. DBD_Cuehara (Ra) and DBD_Hakubai (Oranos) on Midgard

They don’t fight for water very hard which gives me a big boom and puts jeebus in a bit of trouble as he goes no land at all. In the end though a great move with underworld passage gives cuehara a lot of trouble which allows me to take him off his central position with no opposition.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen hunting like on this map in particular, it’s just amazing how much we start with. Anyways a really good game with lots of teamwork involved, not entirely sure if I’ve posted this one before but it shouldn’t have let me if I did (ussually tells me if I upload a game with the same name :D).

A really good game, some good teamwork involved in this one. Things go back and forth for a while. I probably went a little bit too heavy on turmas early on, but with a little bit of help from gabe I manage to hang on and make a game of it.

I do a fast rush on him and after finding a bunch of food villagers out in the open it’s all but over as he loses too many villager seconds to make up.

A pretty good game, I think I would have been better off using auto-queue at a few points because I had a lot of guys queued up but no resources, as a result my upgrades came a bit later than they could have.

Hmmm looks like I got a bit behind on my posting, this is a rather old game, but still it was after the Titan rush had been discredited. I was quite surprised that he went for a fast titan, but then again some people can’t adapt even if they know the person they are playing against can destroy their strat :).

A pretty good game with good land/water battles. He went a little bit too heavy on turmas at one point though and defended the wrong side of the map after I was heroic. Just remember a little bit of walling can go a long ways on medit and that’s likely all he needed to keep him in this one.

He goes too heavy on turmas early without very much in the way of infantry at all, which gives me a pretty big advantage.

Home: A bunch of new games over the last two days.

8 games yesterday which can be found here, and 10 new games today which can be found here including games under Poseidon, Odin, Kronos, Oranos, and Isis. There are a few really good games in there that are worth watching I think.
Spotlight

This is a really good game, we agreed not to build titans which was fine by me because I rarely build Titans. Watch this game!!
Myself as Odin vs. Vagabond_Point as Zeus on Savannah
Another really good game which to be honest really surprised me, I thought several times that I was done for in this one.

Definietly worth a watch, this one is a pretty back and forth game.

He goes for a forward possition on a couple of midgols after a fast heroic. But can 2 midgols plus a few troops stand up to the might of Oranos?

After the first few minutes of this game it was fairly obvious to me that he was going for a fast rush, that’s why you’ll see me give his oracles a whack here and there. Anyways turned out my guess was spot on, too bad that rush isn’t really all that powerful hehe.

Yay another Fast Titan player, I have a bit of difficulty with this one due to a bit of a slow start, I really should have taken my 2nd tc much sooner.

He had only been playing Titans for about a week as compared to my month solid of playing which makes for quite a difference in how well we know our civ.

A pretty good game, a bit old but still good. Gold becomes very key in this one (as it is every time on this map) and I have to use everything at my disposal to hold onto it.

Hmmmm probably not worth watching, 4 min long he on a smurf name a fair amount lower than mine and decides that as Isis he had better start hunting bugging me so I resign. Love ya Hope.

An interesting strategy by him, he made a few really good military moves to gain a tc advantage and after that it was all downhill for me.

I made a few big mistakes in this one, I didn’t really prepare for his FH (which I knew he was doing) very well, and I went too heavy on turmas, a few katapeltes would have saved me big time I think.

Wanna learn how not to play? Watch me. I make a few pretty big mistakes in this game and they almost cost me, in the end though a little bit of map control goes a long ways.

A good game with a little bit of everything in here, I start the pressure early to prevent him from ancestoring my home base and he responds pretty well to it, witness the fall of the titan.

This game really shows the power of elephants I think. Definitely worth a spotlight.

A really entertaining game, there were a lot of mistakes mind you but still for entertainment value I give this one the thumbs up.

I posted 3 new ones all in Oranos, 2 are 2v2 rated vs. skwizz and the other is vs. capoch.
Now I haven’t played a lot of team rated so didn’t know how it worked but it turns out that since we lost our first game I lost 40 points and my partner lost 4 because he was rated 200 points below me (not a smurf just doesn’t play rated much). In the second game he gained over 40 points and I gained 16 or so, seems kinda silly for one person on the team to gain or lose more points than the other, but then again no one ever said self rating was a smart system either. Just my random gripe for the day.

A pretty good game, I think the deciding factor was the tc placement and our early control of the middle of the map (gold mines).

The new shooting docks really make medit silly I think, a fairly close game, but my unit selection and lack of upgrades is what really killed me in this one I think.

I just posted 14 new games in Odin, Zeus, Kronos, Oranos, Thor, and Ra, hopefully I’ll get time to post a few more later today.
Also I’ve been in and out of the top 20 again in the last couple of days so things are going pretty good. However I’ve discovered that I can’t possibly manage to stay at that level playing a variety of civs, so my rated games will be mostly devoted to Oranos for the time being. However my team games will likely be split between the norse gods with the odd greek/egypt game thrown in for good measure.
I’ve also in the last week started my premium services and so far have gotten a good response. I’m hoping later this week to post up a brief portion of the first game review (it was over 6 pages long so I’m not going to post the whole thing) that I did so that some of you who think you might be interested can get a brief glimpse of what’s in store for you.

I thought I was in big trouble a couple of times in this game, but in the end his over-reliance on turmas really cost him.

A rather old game, I go for a 2 tc early boom (my first try at it) and manage to get a huge economy going, that plus a little bit of raiding buy me enough time to get heroic and start spamming those birds.

Some good early raiding by him causes me a few problems gaining resources, but you gotta love how easy it is to mass up automatons.

I decide to go for a big fishing boom which gives me a big advantage right off the bat due to this being a basically non rush game. After that you can see me make a few big mistakes by lacking in military buildings/upgrades in general which almost give him a chance at a comeback.

A bit of an older game but still a pretty good one, I went a bit too heavy on the turmas and that caused me some problems with his army he ended up dropping right at the end but I have a feeling that I know what the outcome was going to be.

He goes for a big classical army that actually does pretty well due to the fact I was expecting a FH. This one turns into a pretty good game I think, however his very late heroic age time really set him back a few paces.

Boy am I glad he wasn’t checking the gold mines more often, with the amount there were on this map and how spread out they were, he really could have owned me after taking the initial fights.

I have to remember to use more jarls vs. these Isis players, I think that my poor unit selection really hurt me in this one, I also should have taken over that middle tc in classical rather than waiting until heroic, a few upgrades wouldn’t hurt either.

Not a bad game, a little on the short side, but he employs a somewhat strange tactic against me that almost fooled me.

I think that players really need to learn how to read the map better. He complained afterwards that there was no gold for him…. while it may be true he had a long walk to his second gold mine that doesn’t mean he couldn’t have made a much better and earlier attempt to secure said gold mine.

A pretty good game, I’m not sure if my success with Odin has more to do with his lack of playing with oranos (not sure how much he’s used him) or just a skill gap between the two of us.

After I played this guy (self rated smurf) he said something to the effect like, I hate AoT auto queue makes it so that even rooks can be good. Watch the game and just look to see how many buildings I use auto-queue on. Guess he’s just more of a rook than he wanted to admit(since I am obviously a rook in his eyes).

Oranos vs. Gaia is pretty much just a joke of a game. Oranos has too much going for him to possibly lose to someone near to the same skill level.

I played this one really silly, I should have realised that he had two gold mines in his base, I was just too dumb to realise it. Incidentally this game is the first one in which I can remember ever picking loki in rated.

I’m not quite sure what to do vs. Atlanteans on low food maps such as this, apperently peltasts definitly don’t hold a candle to turmas.

A rather poorly played game on my part, my economy just never seemed to have anything going for it, mostly due to a lack of upgrades.

A pure turma army really doesn’t work for too long in this type of game, I’m sure he learned his lesson.

He pulls off a really powerful rush here and almost manages to take me out in one swift blow. However he made a few key mistakes in staying under my tc fire without really accomplishing a lot, a lack of support units (cav) really cost him as well.

There were some close early battles, but yet again he didn’t put any pressure on my economy and that left me free to do what I wanted. Atlantean econ is just too good early on to leave alone.

I really wanted to see if going waterless was an option on this map, I think that my approach was rather confused though, at first I was going water then I wasn’t going to, bleh I didn’t have a clear strat in mind and it cost me vs. a smurf.

For a while I thought I was done for, I couldn’t find my third gold mine and was quite worried I’d be stuck in classical. The real key to this one was my choice in god powers, and his very isolated tc.

After briefly winning water I decide to abanndon it when he makes a comeback, and instead boom away on land. Controlling that top tc became pretty important in keeping his army small enough to deal with I think.
