They really slowed me down a lot with buildings on my side of the map which dragged the game out a lot. But eventually I caught on and went with an all siege army :D.

I think forcing him to use cease fire earlier than he wanted really hurt him in this one, he could never really get a foothold on a TC after that which gave me an edge.

Not sure why but the viewpoint of this game is from his POV. Perhaps it’s because of the watcher involved? I’m not entirely sure. Anyways a few good raids really kept me in this game after he went for a 2 TC start.

Here’s a good example of a cookie cutter player with a high rating. I don’t know why he would try such a useless rush against an Oranos player as Oranos can really handle it easily. But hey if cookie cutter gets you that high I guess keep using it.

This game made me laugh. It ends rather quickly but afterwards he couldn’t understand how I got the army that I did so early. So I said to him “there’s a reason I was top 10 with Oranos before I stopped playing him exclusively", he responded back with “I am top 10 with Oranos” Turns out this guy is fortune on another of his sub 1800 smurf nicks. Kind of fun beating the crap out of him so easily.

This is a pretty cool game overall I think. Check out shockwave actually stopping a tc from being built, wasn’t sure if it would work but it was pretty cool. Very good game I think.

He jokingly said “no turmas” at the start of the game. So I said “OK". He said back that he was j/k and that we could use turmas otherwise it would just be cherioballistas and prometheans. Well I stuck with my word just for the heck of it (didn’t expect him to because we never actually agreed to go no turmas) and this is how it turned out… interesting to say the least.

Not a bad game, I get on him early due to his slow classical time, which gives me a good advantage in my attack, however a good counter-raid by him does some good damage and puts him back into the game. He complained after he was sure he had lost that I had an unfair advantage because I had all those giraffes…. you be the judge as to whose giraffe were actually closer to them heh.

This is an extremely long and extremely ummmmm long game hehe. Towers everywhere, fortress’ everywhere. I don’t know if I’ve ever played another game where I completely ran out of accessable trees several times. Anyways they resign at the end because it’s going for too long, things get rather repetitive after a while in this one I think.

This is a pretty interesting game, he goes for the standard FH type thing, if rather poorly done, then he just starts massing up the buildings in the middle, which believe me are very tough to get rid of due to the hills/forests/settlement. By 14 minutes he hasn’t even built a troop, but man he sure has a lot of midgols up.

Here’s a game that really shows the importance of teamwork. It didn’t matter that I was actually going to lose to my opponent in this one because the damage that I managed to do to the other two players more than made up for my slow but eventual death.

Good team-work on their part, we go for the early double, but Blurs defenses hold in there long enough for chromage to start to over-run me at home.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen hunting like on this map in particular, it’s just amazing how much we start with. A really good game, some good teamwork involved in this one. Things go back and forth for a while. I probably went a little bit too heavy on turmas early on, but with a little bit of help from gabe I manage to hang on and make a game of it.

I was quite surprised that he went for a fast titan, but then again some people can’t adapt even if they know the person they are playing against can destroy their strat :).

A pretty good game with good land/water battles. He went a little bit too heavy on turmas at one point though and defended the wrong side of the map after I was heroic. Just remember a little bit of walling can go a long ways on medit and that’s likely all he needed to keep him in this one.

This is one of those odd games I mentioned on my main page, for some reason the view starts on Cure toxic rather than myself, just strange is all. Pretty close game for a while, but just not enough agression by wormwood or they might have taken us out.

He tries the fast titan on me, if you want to see how to defeat a titan rusher here is how I think. It’s very easy to do I think, you just have to realize you can’t play the same way that you’re used to playing (it’s called adapting to new situations).

A bit of poor execution on his part caused him to lose an awful lot of villagers. I didn’t really know what he was trying to do strat-wise because I had never heard of the titan rush (or whatever they call it) before. As a result I kind of played too defensive at points in this game where I could have easily been choking him off. Other than that I made a few mistakes (fighting his ancestors under his tc was a bit silly), but still not too hard to overcome.

Game 2 of 2 vs salska. I don’t quite get the atlanten gods on water. Their ships are cheaper by 30 res (20 wood 10 gold), but have 2 less attack, 50 less hit points, 5% less pierce armour and in exchange get 1.75 more speed. While speed is all well and good it really doesn’t do all that much in 90% of sea battles.

Not knowing there was fishing really hurt them in this game, it made it a little bit unfair in our advantage.

I’m not quite sure I understand his base placement, not that it really plays a huge role, but I’m sure I would have had more troubles if he had built his military buildings within the confines of his base.

Let this game be a lesson to you all, if you want a 1v1 then search for a 1v1 not a ?v? because you might end up in a game like this. All these guys had sub 1520 ratings according to the thing (self rated likely) so it basically just became a joke of a game and I’m sure they didn’t enjoy it, although my partner did get a few tips this being his first game of AoM at all.

I knew that prophecy would be in trouble with the civ matchup he had on his side (gaia sucks vs. Kronos IMO) so tried to help him. Unfortunately the distance between our two towns was pretty huge and so by the time I made it there I had to be back at my own town. Long story short, good game :).

Once you get going with atlanteans it can be darn tough to stop, however some excellent teamwork by them really kept me on my toes with my army never in the right place at the right time, gg.

I think it’s a really big mistake trying to take a forward tc so early, you might be able to get away with a defensive one if the possition is right, but going forward is just asking for trouble.

I made 2 big mistakes here. The first was forgetting about the titan (which lead to a couple smaller mistakes) the second was not pressing fast enough when I had a clear population advantage.

A little bit of lucky timing on my temple gives him a big enough lead militarily that he can just keep on rolling very easily.

I kinda had poor troop selection here, as well I really messed up with my 4th age GP, I should have run to the gate and transported back to my base if need be.

Hmmmm I was kinda talking to someone on MSN while playing the start of this game… thus the lack of villagers hehe. Anyways this guy really should have and could have had me if he had kept his troops flowing better, his econ kicked mine in the nuts, phew!
