Well for starters my name is Bryan Mitchell, I’m 22 years old and live in Saskatchewan Canada. I am currently working as a baker which is actually kinda fun for the most part.
That’s enough about my personal life as I’m sure most of you don’t really care too much about that :). I’m not going to get into the long time before I got into the Age Of series as I think that would likely bore most of you, so here is my Age of Kings history .
The year Age of Kings came out I bought my first computer, the plan was to use it for school, and I did, but I also very soon found out about Age of Kings from one of my brothers. He had the game and lent it to me to play for a while. At first it really didn’t appeal to me too much, I played the odd time versus the computer and had some fun doing that, but it didn’t really have me hooked. Then several months after AoK came out one of my brothers discovered that you could play it online with other people. So I logged on to the zone with my first ever zone name Darken_Rahl_. I seemed to figure things out in the game fairly quickly as I was playing in inter-good games within the first week or two using my deadly man at arms rush. I didn’t really understand the game at that point very well, but was still able to win a lot more than I lost, I think that’s probably what hooked me the most, the fact that I was doing really well at it. Within my first week of playing I got invited into my first clan, WoD, so I made the name WoD_Darken_Rahl, very soon after joining however the clan split in half, and the person who I first met, and who recruited me into WoD created a new clan, the ME clan. Being fairly new to online gaming I didn’t know exactly what was going on so I just went with the flow and joined his new clan. The clan however had a structure where everyone had a title showing their rank in the clan (which I think is pretty gay now hehe). So my rank was Count, which I believe was about 5th or 6th in line and that’s how I ended up with the extremely stupid name ME_Count_Rahl. A ways into AoK ME clan started to die out, I had recruited a few players into the clan who I really liked playing with, so me and them all joined the KS clan who we had often played vs. in games that started out very competitive (we really didn’t like each other), but eventually turned into fun games as we discovered what a great bunch the KS clan were. My name with KS was KS_Darken_Rahl and I used it a fair amount to begin with.
At this point however I started to get a little too good at AoK for my own good. I started to get a bit cocky (very unlike me), and decided that I needed a new clan. While KS clan was a great bunch of people and very fun to play with, few of them could actually play at or near my level at that time. It was to the point where we would play 3v4 and 2v3 to make the teams a bit more fair in inter-KS games. CaN clan which was a clan I looked up to quite a bit back in AoK, noticed my ability at the game after having defeated two of their better players in a 2v2. The leaders of CaN asked me to join their clan, I talked to KS harp and he agreed that I could have membership in both clans at the same time. I told this to CaN clan, and told them that I wouldn’t leave KS, they agreed and let me join. Shortly after this CaN clan started to have troubles as many of its members didn’t feel that I belonged in the clan, they felt my skill level was too far below theirs. This (and a few other things) caused some problems to the point where the clan eventually broke up. One of the people who was against me being in the clan was none other than StorM_Front who I have since played with a fair amount and become fairly good buds with (as good as you can be over the internet that is). Before the end of CaN clan occurred my crowing achievement occurred in AoK. I was invited into the Clash Of The Titans tournament. This was an exclusive tournament hosted by DevilZ_Vasago with the 32 players who were thought to be the best at the time. I made it into the tournament by beating DevilZ_Sk8er in a 1v1 match with Vasago watching him and my good bud Nikolai watching me. A while after I played the game vs. Sk8er I was informed by someone that Vasago had actually helped Sk8er out in the game. Anyways I made it into the tournament, despite many people complaining that I didn’t really belong there. I got paired up against Paranoia who was a legend of RTS games at the time, but whom I had never heard of (I knew very few experts and still know very few to this day). For those of you who don’t know I managed to lose our best of three series in what were considered by many to be the best two recorded games of the tournament. Unfortunately I’ve been informed that both games have been deleted from MFOs servers or I’d find the links for you :(.
Shortly after that tournament CaN clan died, many of us joined Arch, but it lasted only a short while before Arch disintigrated after a fight between Arch_Vile and Adam whose Zone name I no longer recall (the fight actually all happened in a game where I was smurfing with KS clan vs. some Arch members). Shortly after this the Conquerors expansion was released, I continued to use my KS name for a while, but soon after was invited into StorM clan which had been formed by 4 members of CaN clan. I joined, and stuck with them for a long while until I had some disagrements with some of the newer members and quit StorM for a while. I then later rejoined them again, quit them again, rejoined them again, and have since gone on the inactive list due to the fact no StorM members play AoM anymore. Hmmm am I a clan hopper? Nah couldn’t be.
Most of you already know my AoM history, but for those who don’t I played in the first big cash tournament for AoM, the Heroics for the Holidays tournament, and managed to finish fourth overall. Beyond that I have held the number 1 ranking (if ever so briefly) two times, and been in and out of the top 20 many times.
For those wondering the names I currently use are KS_Josey_Wales, Name_Hades, and ME_Count_Rahl. I have many inactive names which I will never likely use again such as Morning_StorM and Number_1.
