Erik goes for a hoplite/minotaur rush against me, however he does it just a bit too early, if he had massed up even 4 more hoplites the result easily could have been much different. However he does it again a few minutes later, only this time with a whole lot more hoplites, he almost ran me out of the game as I only had 1 ox-cart left and not enough wood for a TC (not that Grit couldn’t have tribbed me), but after that his partners weak economy (due to doubles) just couldn’t keep up and it was only a matter of time before Grit ran them both over.

Boy I hate Loki a lot. Fortunately I manage to control the map a decent amount and that gives me a good edge.

I think I needed a few more upgrades earlier on in this one. I had the tc advantage and the adavantage in numbers but I just couldn’t keep enough troops out there because they were getting killed too fast. A few more TA would have been nice in my flaming weapons as well. I think this game kind of shows why axemen own norse so badly…. they create waaay faster than my replacement troops can so what I really needed was 2x as many buildings as him, too bad there wasn’t really room for that near my base.

I go for a speedy Water build this time ending up with a 4 min Loki rush. The double sided attacks really seemed to hurt him a lot, as well the distraction on water was a bit too much for him. I’ll get the hang of Loki yet.

I played this one a bit silly. Sure it’s not a great idea to rush hard against a Hades player, but I knew he was going for double tc, so I should have tried to prevent him from getting all 3 of his tcs.

Sigh, Loki again. I decided after seeing a bit of the map layout that my best bet would be to do some walling. Unfortunately I don’t think I could have walled fast enough to stop him from doing what he wanted to do. At a couple of points in this game I thought I might have a chance, but things didn’t fall in right. Perhaps I should have used my vils to fight him hehe.

Why do I always seem to get norse vs. Kronos players? Anyways not much of a game to speak of here, I do some decent inital raiding I thought, but I just don’t build enough barracks early on and it costs me.

Bleh I don’t like loki in situations like this. I just never get a good enough food economy going to keep up with him. I should have really gone for a defensive build right from the start, but then again losing water so easily wouldn’t have made things any easier.

so close to being worth a spotlight, this is a pretty long game it lasted nearly 1 hour… very good game worth a watch.

Going FH with no military and gold in front vs. a hard loki rush is really a not a good situation to be in.

A somewhat interesting game, I haven’t really played a lot of loki on water maps so I’m not sure what the other experts do on this map, but I thought things worked out fairly well.

I really should have just rushed my guy instead of trying to double his considering where my forward base was positioned, would have likely given me better results early on.

A pretty interesting start to this one. I’m not sure how much I slowed him down as compared to myself, but it was fun anyways.

cubensis is a TC thief!!! The teams ended up a little bit lopsided in this one, but it still turned out to be a decent game. Watch flank delay a dock builder for the first couple minutes of the game.

Another not so fair matchup in TRL, but I don’t think the civs would have mattered all that much in this one to be honest.

I played this one really silly, I should have realised that he had two gold mines in his base, I was just too dumb to realise it. Incidentally this game is the first one in which I can remember ever picking loki in rated.

I hadn’t seen a loki hersir rush in some time so this was somewhat refreshing. I manage to stop his initial attack (just barely) and in turn was able to help lytes gain an advantage vs. gloppy. While lytes was doing pretty good on his own all he needed was a little bit extra to give him a good advantage.

Set is just too much for me to handle it seems like :(. I put my towers up in a bit of a bad possition, I should have thought ahead some and placed them closer to my second gold mine :(. But really what can you do against so many free units?

Ummmm wow. I can’t believe after my rush failed so bad that I actually managed to come back in the least. I think my biggest problem in this one was the large distance between my first and second food sources, this really slowed my ability to go classical quickly.

I don’t know why they didn’t just cut down Sets animal attack power to 1 during archaic, as it is they can still kill docks before classical and can certainly kill my ulfsarks too easily.

I abuse the loki water bug to the fullest, yes I know it’s lame and there’s no excuse, but I was rather mad about a series of losses before this to set and loki whores, not much of an excuse but oh well.
