I honestly don’t know why anyone would waste as many resources as he did teleporting towers all over the place but it certainly didn’t help him.

Very close game, he does a good job of raiding with a couple of centaurs and playing defensively, however I force him into a cease fire fairly early on and manage to take over an important TC because of it.

I go for a bit of a different strategy here by going up very late and then massing up hoplites with a few minotaurs thrown in, however his ancestors eclipse manages to take out a lot of villagers, will my economy be able to keep up with hoplite hoarding?

I played this one kind of poorly at the start, I didn’t realize how important that middle TC was (due to the gold around it) until just the slightest bit too late, once he got control of that TC it was all downhill.

This is a pretty tight game, if he had paid attention to the layout of the map a little bit better I would have lost for sure, but he let me gather gold in a fairly obvious place for too long and I was able to take advantage of that plus Zeus superior late game army.

He goes for an early expansion and manages to win the early fighting, however he made the mistake of letting me get minotaurs out too easily (good relic) and didn’t press his advantage quickly enough.

Centaur strangle!!!! It’s been a long time but things work out pretty well as I’m able to suppress any expansion by him for a very long time, after that my superior economy goes on auto cruise.

This is definitely a game of missed opportunities, if I had just run after the initial villager fighting this game would have been all but over, as it is I made mistake after mistake and he boomed his way back into it.

He plays pretty well even after I get him back on his heels early on, I think I went at his main base a little too hard a little too early when I could have easily just played a game of gold control to win.

He lets me get away with an awful lot of things in this one, I think the only thing that really kept him in it for so long was the fact I forgot to get my medium upgrades!!!

He puts up some pretty good attacks in this one and really had me on the ropes for much of the game. I really have to get off of my fixation with Hippikon they really aren’t pop effective.

Pretty interesting game, I sort of learnt from my previous game and managed to hold out long enough to get to mythic, will I be able to come back from 4 tc to 2 with a titan out there against me?

After foiling his early rush I manage to push him back for a little while. Unfortunately a couple of key mistakes in my strategy really cost me.

He goes for a rather interesting strategy against a greek player and it actually works fairly well. Unfortunately for him he forgets a couple small details that I always have in the back of my mind.

Pretty decent game on my end of the map, nothing terribly exciting though, what’s up with all the towers that people love to build now?

I made a bit of a mistake fighting him a bit too hard early on, however I pulled my army back before it was too late. A couple of raiding mistakes also almost cost me the game, however I thought I handled things pretty well for the most part.

I really played this one poorly, I had the food sources available to build up a decent army but instead decided to go for a boom. Bleh he kept me on my heels quite well this game.

I get the jump on him early as he tries to go for a double TC starting (but too slowly) after that it turns into a waiting game as he just masses up too many towers/ranged unit for me to do anything but wait for siege to come out. Fairly boring game to play so I’d imagine it won’t be much better to watch.

Not a bad game, we both made a lot of small mistakes as we were both fairly rusty but in the end I think it’s probably a pretty entertianing game to watch.

I do a really slow Classical for some reason (think I messed up on food) and it really really hurts me. This causes a very drawn out and not too exciting game :(.

I had no real game plan in this game and it really shows. I build a bunch of military but don’t do much with it, sometimes I feel so rusty it’s not even funny.

Not that I’d suggest watching it however. I usually just do my searches on ?vs? This is the first time I ever got pitted in a 3v3 by doing so. I’ve been in several 2v2’s but never anything like this. One thing you can learn from this game though is that if your partner resigns right off the start delete his stuff and steal his sheep :).

I’m not quite sure why he decided to go centaurs against another Zeus player, however it really hurt him a lot as they just aren’t as powerful as they used to be.

Some really silly play by me in this one. I really shouldn’t have fought him so hard so early… however without knowing of any other good food sources near me (read bad scouting) I didn’t have a whole lot of choice but to fight to keep a hold of my Rhinos.

Normally I don’t like to use Titans in 1v1 games, however he didn’t leave me a whole lot of choice in this one, I really hate towers.

I made a couple of key mistakes in this one. After my first succesful raid I really should have sat back a bit more and boomed. I knew I had a huge economic advantage by that point so there was really no need to go all out with more raids afterwards.

After I take a bit of an advantage I just sit back and wait for him to come to the outside gold mines. Will my patience pay off or will my allowing him to raid my economy freely hurt me a bit too much.

They go for the quick tc grab in early classical, but that doesn’t last for long as we managed to split their defense a couple of times and simply have better teamwork than them. While teddy started out strong his mouse broke down partway into the game so he really couldn’t micro a lot after that which would be why he sucked so bad in the late game :D.

This game made me laugh. After every game Dean plays he has some excuse or another this time it was “stupid free MU". Yup that’s right a guy who gets ancestors eclipse as his GP’s is complaining about free MU. Kind of funny I thought.

After a quick bit of scouting it was pretty apperent how important that middle TC was going to be, which would be why I went for it so fast. He was kind of mad that his tornado didn’t stop my TC from going up, but at that point I think I had enough of an advantage that so long as he couldn’t get that TC up I was going to win.

I really should have done a better job walling early on. As well getting my tower upgrade asap would have been very beneficial. Going with a mix of hoplites/hippikon right off the start is another thing that might have saved me, but who knows. Hmmm coulda used some more raiding early on too hehe so many mistakes no wonder I lost.

A few of his troops went the wrong way on him in the middle and that really hurt him. Other than that just some gold control by me. He gave up a bit early I think, but zeus vs. thor is a tough matchup in the late game.

It might take a bit more doing but centaurs own even atlantean villagers pretty badly. These guys really didn’t have the best of teamwork going, which is what happens when you don’t have a regular set of partners with you I suppose.

A bit of early doubling gives harg enough of an edge that he just rolls over Perfection (who at the time was #1 ranked :D).

My favorite part was where Montezuma told us that he needed help….. oh wait he never said anything until he said gg, darn double. I don’t know why it was too hard for him to say that he might need some help against Miya (or even that he had been doubled in the first place), but apperently that’s not what team games are all about.

This was quite a fun game for me to play, the first few minutes were very enjoyable (watch our economies). I thought the forest fire was the funniest part to be honest because that was his only chance for escape hehe :). Anyways turns out to be a decent game, we might have actually won despite Jones dropping if not for the fact that I was having so much fun fooling around at the start.

Excellent game, back and forth fights throughout. Never give up!!! Apperently Bacardi gave up for a couple of minutes, but it was his Ragnarok that kept us in the game in the first place so that’s OK by me :).

Interesting game, bolt gives me an early edge, pestilence easily makes up for it. I take the water despite being a fair amount behind in production, but is that what really counts on this map?

He really played this one too defensively to have much of a chance. Note to opponents if I am making slow units, use your fast units to go around my army and strike my economy :).

Really good game I think. He had some poor map control, and just didn’t seem to understand how easy it could have been for him to win this game.

For some reason this guy thought he was Isis for the longest time, so that’s why he didn’t convert any animals hehe. Anyways another Zeus Fast Mythic game, this one almost goes wrong, but upgrades start to prevail after a little bit.

Hmmmm kind of a poor start to the fighting for me and I never really recover. Once those Jarls start to come out it’s all over but the crying.

He gets me into a fair amount of trouble in this one but fortunately for me doesn’t really hurt my economy as a result of it. Decent game, probably worth a watch.

The fast mythic strikes again, some good teamwork by my partner. Shows how you really don’t need a lot to get your army going with this strategy.

Well this is what I get for picking greeks vs. a bunch of norse players…. about 3000 RC shoved down my throat all at once. Things work out somehow despite the fact that I never really do a lot it seems like. Team games always seem that way to me for some reason, I wonder why.

Oh how I hate greeks on water maps, they are such a dissadvantage comapared to the other two cultures. Guess I should have at least tried for water, but for some reason I just wanted to try to do KS_Generals Zeus Fast Mythic. Came close to working too I just didn’t continue on with my economy enough.

Pretty funny game, this employs KS_Generals neat strategy the Zeus Fast Mythic. Really neat strategy but I’m not so sure it will work on a consistent basis (pretty sure it won’t hehe).

The rematch game, this was played right after our game on the unknown. This game is more like it, centaur power all the way… plus a bit of map control.

Not a bad game I guess, just goes to show that some players without a lot of skill can make their way to the 1900’s just due to the fact set is overpowered.

I make a pretty big mistake with my cavalry, it’s been too long since I’ve faced a Ra FH type of player on water. Anyways if I had played it right I’m sure I wouldn’t have lost, but as it is I got my but whooped on good.

He goes with a lot of ulfsarks early on in this one, it gives me some troubles but I think he would have been better off with the speedy raiding cav to hit my economy with.

I’m just glad he didn’t rush me hard because I had such a slow start I would have been done for. Good example of using the terrain to your advantage later on.

A somewhat frustrating game, I really feel that I would have won this one if not for that ridge where my trade got blocked up. After that I had to put my trade right out in the open and it caused me troubles the rest of the game. Probably a pretty good watch, but be warned the game is somewhere over an hour long. (probably 1:20).

I try out a centaur rush on water to see how that will work, I’m not sure if it hurt him so much as it distracted his micro from the water battles. Some nice raiding by him later on but I just had too much going for me by that point.

This is probably the best execution of the centaur strangle I’ve ever had. Hitting as early as I did gave such a big advantage I think, and I was able to keep the pressure up the whole time.

I really seemed slugish in this game and took far too long to get things rolling, probably not a game I deserved to win.

This is my second game vs. him in a row, I really blow this game by not being agressive enough in classical, I should have had him, but let it slip through my fingers.

It really iritates me that MU’s specials dont’ work vs. Set’s animals, it really makes things more difficult. And yet again I think that for pop/cost the egyptian siege towers are overpowered.
